The Lake City City Council is scheduled to hold a Special Called Meeting on Tuesday, May 26 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, where council members are expected to consider several major resolutions tied to the acquisition and funding of the North Florida Mega Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant.
One of the primary agenda items involves a proposed $5.5 million loan agreement between the City of Lake City and the Florida Department of Commerce through the Rural Community Development Revolving Loan Fund Program. The funding would be used for costs associated with acquiring the wastewater treatment plant serving the North Florida Mega Industrial Park in Columbia County.
Council members are also expected to consider multiple resolutions related to the closing process for the wastewater treatment plant acquisition, including approval of easement assignments, deed agreements, closing statements, and related legal documents involving Columbia County and Weyerhaeuser Company affiliates.
According to agenda documents, some agreements and exhibits tied to the transaction continue undergoing legal review and may receive minor revisions prior to Tuesday’s meeting.
In addition to the wastewater treatment plant items, the council is also scheduled to consider a resolution authorizing an application for Federal Aviation Administration Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act grant funding for taxi lane rehabilitation and drainage improvements at the Lake City Gateway Airport.
